About The Manas Collective

The Manas Collective: Bridging Science, Spirituality, and Nature for Growth, Health, and Well-being

The Manas Collective is a community organization dedicated to fostering a healthy lifestyle by integrating diverse ideas. It creates a nurturing environment where people can learn from each other, developing a holistic approach to healing and overall wellness. By bringing together individuals from various spiritual and healing backgrounds, the collective not only aids those in need of holistic healing but also promotes mutual learning and growth.

The term "manas," meaning the mind labyrinth, emerged during a meditation focused on peace and prosperity for all. In meditation, the mind labyrinth represents the journey of moving from one thought to the next, ultimately reaching the center where peace and oneness are revealed. The Manas Collective values diversity and strives to unify our varied backgrounds, guiding everyone to the center of peace and unity.

The collective embraces traditional ways of being, adapting them to the modern world to foster a sense of community and family. It emphasizes the importance of learning and growing together across generations, bringing together elders, adults, and children. The collective also recognizes the need to integrate the mind, spirit, and body, which have become fragmented in contemporary times.

By utilizing natural tools, modern science, diverse traditional ideologies, and fostering a community that includes all elements of nature, the Manas Collective creates a safe space for growth and healing. Its mission is to establish a center of peace where nature and all beings can find rest and healing.

Mahala Berry - Founder

Mahala Berry M.S. SLP-CCC

Mahala earned her Master’s in Speech Pathology from Marquette University in 2018, specializing in bilingual English-Spanish therapy. Her career has spanned various settings, including schools in California and Wisconsin, outpatient clinics serving military families in Germany, and a public hospital in Guatemala City. She has worked with individuals aged 1 to 25 across these diverse environments.

In 2021, Mahala faced a personal health crisis that severely impacted her ability to work and function as she once did. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to find relief within the Western medical system, she sought alternative healing methods in the East, living in places such as Indonesia and Nepal. A pivotal moment came during a multi-day healing ceremony with a shaman in the Philippines, where she learned about the profound connection between the mind, spirit, and body. It became evident that a violent assault from years earlier had exacerbated her physical illness.

Following the ceremony, the identity of the assailant was revealed, and justice was eventually served through legal proceedings. This resolution allowed Mahala to advance closer towards harmony between her mind, spirit, and body. Her spiritual journey not only provided deep personal insights but also opened her mind to new ideas. Now she continues down this path forever learning, transforming, and following spirit to wherever it may lead her. Inspired by the wisdom of people she learned from in Nepal and guided by a coyote to a spiritual elder in New Mexico, Mahala now advocates for integrating diverse backgrounds and ancient teaching to support others on their own healing journeys.
